NANOPIX Mini Benchtop SAXS Small Angle X-Ray Scattering
Worlds first benchtop SAXS system
The Rigaku NANOPIX SAXS is the little brother of the NANOPIX which has set the standard small angle resolution (Qmin). Despite its small size, the system is more than capable of automatically determining nanoparticle size distribution in research and industrial/quality control environments. The NANOPIX mini is ideal for determining:
- Nanoparticle size
- Nanoparticle size distributions
- The shape of nanoparticles
With the increasing use of nanoparticles in such things as paint, cosmetics, sunscreens and even food, the ability to accurately characterise them is increasing by the day. The incorporation of nanoparticles into products brings technical and performance gains, however, there are often restrictions about how they can be used, so the NANOPIX mini is an instrument that is very relevant. The quality of the data produced by the system is more than adequate to satisfy regulators.
Key Features
- SAXS measurement in the ultra-small angle X-ray scattering (USAXS) range
- Engineered for quality control and research & development applications
- Simplifies non-technical operation for routine particle size distribution determinations
- Produces nanoparticle characterisation data suitable for regulatory compliance
- Perfect for opaque suspensions that other analytical techniques struggle with
- Can be used on solids e.g. plastics, rubbers and polymers
- Compact benchtop design with a small countertop footprint
- Innovative design using proven components for low cost of ownership
- Automatic sample changer for higher throughput
- New easy-to-use SmartLab Studio II SAXS software

Unique Capabilities
SAXS offers unique capabilities compared to the particle measurement techniques. It is able to measure opaque and solid samples in a compact benchtop system. It provides you with enganced angular resolution through its line-focus X-ray source and superior combination of high figure-of-merit optics.
Sample Types
The NANOPIX mini SAXS system can analyse a range of sample types including:
- Solutions
- Suspensions
- Slurries
- Solids
- Plastics
- Rubbers
- Polymers
- Opaque samples
