Origins
Varex Imaging was officially spun out of Varian Medical Systems on January 30, 2017 (press release LINK). While Varex Imaging is a relatively new company, they have a rich history reaching back as far as the 1930s giving them a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field.
Their product range was reinforced when Varian purchased the medical imaging business of PerkinElmer shortly before the demerger. This acquisition broadens the range of products that Varex has to offer the imaging community by adding new digital imaging technology.
Varian Medical Systems is the world’s leading manufacturer of medical devices and software for treating cancer and other medical conditions with radiation and is focussing its efforts in this arena following the separation of Varex.
